This might seem to be a strange answer since it isn't a major league event or even a school event. My favorite sporting event was the annual softball game between my dad, his brothers and my cousins. This game was played at the Legion Park at the annual family reunion. I don't remember any of the scores or any spectacular. It was just great to watch the male side of my family playing a physical game at which none of them had any talent nor were in physically conditioned to do. I am certain there were groans and liniment applications at more than one house that night.
I enjoyed the games where my children participated in any way playing in the game, cheering, or playing in the band. All other games really aren't meaningful to me anymore than I would enjoy sitting and watching an accountant or mechanic work at their job.
