Home About Me Ask a Question!

How old were you when you began to drive?

Not nearly old enough.  My first attempts at driving were not successful.  I was extremely timid about opposing traffic and would slow down to almost a stop when a car came toward me.  The boy I was dating cured me of that though.  He had me drive and when a car was coming he put his foot on mine and held down the accelerator.  A baptism by fire but it cured me.
I am a fairly good driver now or at least a cautious and relatively patient one.  Patience is needed in a driver because when you get impatient is when you make mistakes or take chances and get into an accident or cause one.
I was 17 when I got my license but I didn't have a car and dad wouldn't let any of us drive his car so I really didn't have much chance to drive except when my boyfriend would let me drive which wasn't often.  I started driving regularly when I got married.  I would drive to work every day since my husband could walk to work.  We lived next door to the place he worked and my job was several miles away.
Now I enjoy being a passenger.  Sigh--the thrill is gone.
