Where did you go on dates?

I wasn't allowed to date until I was sixteen.  We didn't have too many choices since it was a rural community.  We would go to movies, to eat, to school functions or stay home and play cards or boardgames.  Football and basketball games were a popular date venue during the fall and winter.  Swimming during the summer.  We didn't date as much as kids do now because we didn't have as much disposable income then and we weren't encouraged to date.  Allowances were small and opportunites for employment were scarce during the winter.
