What were some inventions you witnessed that changed the way we live?

The first one that comes to mind is television.  Before Dad bought the first television,we would play outside, listen to the radio, read. play games, and even talk to one another.  After television, we would sit in the dark watching a fuzzy black and white screen.  We couldn't talk while the tv was on and we certainly couldn't turn it off without much screaming and actual violence.  Before tv, Dad would talk to us or play cards with us but after tv, he would watch baseball and fall asleep until we changed the channel.
Most of the other inventions were made and in mass production before I came along except computers.  Computers changed a lot of things and continue to improve and become a part of more things than we think.
