What was your best friend's name when you were young? And what did you do together?

When I was young, my best friend was named Beverly.  She lived just two houses from me and we were in the same grade in school.  I remember making mudpies with her and her mother throwing both of us in the bathtub.  When we were older, we would walk uptown to see the free movies that were shown on the wall of the community building.  It was fun.  We would bring snacks and a blanket and sit on the ground and watch a movie for free.  Those were the only kind we could afford.  Then walking home we were pestered by boys who came from other towns.  They would ask us if we wanted a ride and if they became too persistent, we would duck into somebodies house and say we were home.  The town we lived in was so small that we knew everybody who lived on the route from our houses to the business section where the movies were shown.  When we reached my house, I would walk with Beverly until we were half way past the empty with the open doors and then we would both run home as fast as we could.  We just didn't know what was in that barn but with the doors always open, they could run out quickly and get us.  There was a street light on the corner but it was very dark in front of the old barn.
