Where did you hang out as a teenager?

Life was different when I was a teenager.  There were no malls, no Walmart, and no big parking lots.  I hung out at home, school, or friends house.  I didn't have a car and neither did my friends so unless one of us could borrow a car, we stayed home.  When we had the use of a car, we would go to the next town that had movie theatres and drive in restaurants.  When  we got there, we would go to a movie or a drivein to eat and then go back home.  Most young people now would find it boring but for us it was exciting because we were out of our small village and in a big town where noone knew us and we could do wild things.  We never did wild things though because we were not programmed for that type of behavior.  Just the thought of doing something wild was all we needed.  We didn't need to really do it and risk getting in trouble in a place where we didn't have anybody to call to get us out of any trouble we would have gotten into.  I don't regret living a quiet and tame life because I don't have anything to regret.  I didn't embarrass my parents.  I didn't end up in jail.  I managed to get good grades in school and participate in school and church activities.  At home, we would play card or board games in the evening and the whole family would participate sometimes the games would last into the early morning hours because some of the family members were very competitive.
