Computers is the obvious answer. And, yes, they do know more about computers and other electronic gadgets than I will ever know. I am glad of that since it relieves me of the task of learning myself. I could learn but why bother when I have grandchildren who are willing to do the tasks and are so very proud of themselves that they know more than grandma.
The real thing that kids know more about than adults is how to have fun without expensive toys or gadgets. They can have hours, or even days, of fun with the box that the refrigerator came in. They can spend hours watching ants scurrying about doing their daily tasks of caring for the colony. Climbing trees to get a better view of the world. Teaching their dog to sit or beg. Trying to start a fire with two sticks. Wading in a stream trying to catch a fish or tadpole. Things we have forgotten how to do. We,adults, have learned to need something outside ourselves to have fun. We need golf clubs or a television. IPod or a cel phone attached to our person. Cards or a board game to play.
Other people would laugh at us if we did some of the things we did as children and some of the things we used to do would now be dangerous for those of us with a lot of years behind us but we can still find wonder in small things and joy in the commonplace.
