Who in your family has been in the armed services? Which branch of service?

In my immediate family, two men have served.  My husband served in the army.  He was drafted before he became a citizen.  He served happily.  He was sent to Germany(his native land) after basic training and was discharged there.  My son served in the Air Force.  He enlisted with his cousin.  His cousin made a career of it but my son didn't reenlist after his four years were up.  He was stationed for the longest time in Guam and later at Myrtle Beach.
My uncles were in the Navy during WWII.  I remember them coming home wearing funny white suits.  My mother's memories were not the same since she had full knowledge of the danger her younger brothers were exposed to.  None of them saw combat but floating around in the Pacific was dangerous in itself.  My dad was called to serve but was rejected, thank Heavens, because of his wrist that had been broken in an accident and not set properly.  My mother must have been frightened out of her wits when he went for the physical.  If he had been drafted, she would have been left alone with two small children.  Fortunately, he came back home and went back to work in a plant that was producing materials for the war.  I didn't even know all of these things were going on since I was only three when the war ended.
